This Cookie Policy explains how Smart Cold uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, for what purposes, and how you can manage your preferences. It complements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They allow your device to be recognized, remember information about your visit, and make the website work more efficiently. In addition to cookies, we use similar technologies, such as browser local storage (localStorage), that serve similar functions. In this Policy, the term "cookies" covers all of these technologies.
Why we use cookies
We use cookies to ensure the website functions correctly and to record the visit source and, with your consent, to understand how the website is used, improve the browsing experience, and support the measurement of marketing campaigns. Analytics and marketing cookies are only activated after you accept them; the visit source record is stored regardless of that choice, as explained below.
Categories of cookies we use
We organize cookies into four categories:
- Necessary (in the cookie notice, "Essenciais"): essential for the website to function and to record your own preferences, including your cookie choice. They do not require consent, as the website cannot work properly without them.
- Visit source: on the Portuguese-language pages, when you reach the website through a link with campaign parameters or from another website, your browser stores where the visit came from, so that this source can accompany a contact request you may send. This record is stored regardless of the cookie notice and does not contain your name, email, or phone. The ad click identifiers it may contain are stored in it, but they only accompany your contact request with your consent for the "Marketing e anúncios" (Marketing and ads) category. If you accept the "Análise" (Analytics) category, this source, without those identifiers, also accompanies the events sent to Google Analytics.
- Analytics (in the notice, "Análise"): help us understand how visitors use the website (most-visited pages, time spent, navigation difficulties), including through Microsoft Clarity session recordings and heatmaps. Activated only with your consent.
- Marketing (in the notice, "Marketing e anúncios"): allow us to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. The website does not currently run ads or use advertising tools; with this category accepted, the website loads Google Tag Manager, which currently does not activate any advertising tool, and the ad click identifiers stored in the visit source record may accompany your contact request. Activated only with your consent.

Durations are set by the respective providers and may be shorter depending on the browser (Chrome, for example, limits cookie duration to 400 days). Third-party cookies (Google and Microsoft) may record additional identifiers, in accordance with those providers' privacy policies. The contact form, available in all three languages, uses Cloudflare's Turnstile anti-bot check, which operates under Cloudflare's privacy policy. When the "Análise" (Analytics) category is accepted and "Marketing e anúncios" (Marketing and ads) is rejected, the Google tag may keep an ad click identifier in the URL of the following pages instead of storing it in a cookie.
Legal basis for using cookies
Necessary cookies are used based on Smart Cold's legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure website. The visit source record is used based on Smart Cold's legitimate interest in knowing which channels bring in contact requests; it does not contain your name, email, or phone, and the ad click identifiers it may contain only accompany your contact request with your consent. Analytics and marketing cookies are used exclusively based on your consent, expressed through the cookie notice, and you may withdraw it at any time.
How to manage your preferences
On the Portuguese-language pages, you control analytics and marketing cookies in two ways: through the cookie notice shown when you access the website (where you can accept, reject, or customize your choice) and, at any time, through the "Gerenciar cookies" (Manage cookies) button in the footer of those pages. The English and Spanish pages do not load analytics or marketing tools and therefore do not show the notice or the button.
Rejecting or withdrawing consent means the tools in the rejected category are notified of your choice immediately and are no longer loaded on the following pages. When the rejected category is "Marketing e anúncios" (Marketing and ads), ad click identifiers no longer accompany your contact request. The visit source record is not deleted when you reject or withdraw consent: it stops being used 90 days after it was first recorded and is deleted the next time you submit the form or click the WhatsApp or Frio Ideal links on the Portuguese-language pages of this website. You can delete it at any time, as well as cookies already stored, by clearing this website's data in your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect how the website works.
Validity of your consent
Your cookie choice is stored for approximately 6 months. After that period, the notice is shown again so you can confirm or update your preferences. You can also change your decision at any time, without waiting for that period, through the "Gerenciar cookies" (Manage cookies) button in the footer of the Portuguese-language pages.
Changes to this Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the tools we use or in the legislation. The version and date of the last update are shown at the top of this page.
